DENTAL WHITENING — ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW

Have you had Dental whitening done or is wanting to? Would you like to see beforehand what works best for you and what the whole procedure is about? Then, you’ve come to the right place. Dental whitening is a process where the teeth is whitened to treat discoloration. Although, it is sometimes used as an initial process before several other dental procedures.

There are many questions regarding teeth whitening that need answers for but don’t receive properly. Let’s answer a few, shall we?

Common Assumptions and Their Truth:

1. Frequency of whitening procedures before prosthetic rehabilitation –

Whether the prosthetic rehabilitation is direct/ indirect, or if they involve the teeth structure, a previous whitening treatment is performed as it will be difficult to perform it later on; you’ll have the risk of restoration colour being different than the natural whitened teeth. Hence, the procedures start with dental whitening.

2.Rehabilitation procedures that don’t require whitening —

In some cases, the patient may have structure loss with only little remainders of the crown. Also, there are cases with patients having old teeth that suffer from severe chromatic alterations. These are not recommended to have dental whitening as it won’t be effective. A restorative ceramic material is more preferred as it will essentially block out the dark colour.

With teeth whitening, there are a lot of circumstances that require assessment. This is why you leave it to the professionals. The process does have a lot of benefits, though being informed is better.
